HOT, HOT, Urgent: May need fast response from all.

Quick Summary:

A bill was discovered (HB 1813) that introduces a new healthcare professional in Hawaii; the Assistant Physician (AP); defined as a medical school graduate who has not completed any training after graduation (internship year OR a residency).  This medical school graduate would be licensed to practice medicine only in rural areas.

I have worked with AAPA to formulate an appropriate document of concerns; and request several items to be changed.  I was then informed today that the bill will likely be dead by COB today.  This is not definite, we will follow closely.  IF not dead, and the bill is scheduled we will need your help and your collaborating physicians support (immediately).

We will keep you posted.
